Responsibilities

  1. Installs, maintains and repairs emergency two-way radios, sirens, lighting and other related communications equipment in County vehicles.
  2. Sets up, installs, diagnoses and repairs base stations following security and communications policies and procedures used by the County to maximize the efficiency and integrity of its radio/field communications.
  3. Requisitions, orders and picks up parts.
  4. Organizes and schedules work.
  5. Keeps records of repairs daily.
  6. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent technical communications installation and repair experience.
  • Two (2) full-time years of electronics/technical experience with some experience repairing and securing radio/video equipment.
  • Working knowledge of basic electricity and electronics communications and protocols.

If hired, you must provide proof of educational attainment at new hire processing.

Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudication in the past seven years and may include financial reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment. A conviction or deferred adjudication is not an automatic bar to employment. Each case is considered individually.

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to stoop, bend, climb, twist and kneel.
