About the company:

Your role:

As a Senior UI/UX Tech Artist, you will play a key role at the intersection of art, design, and technology, bridging the gap between visual design, user experience, and in-engine implementation. You’ll work across multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that our UI/UX systems are visually compelling, highly functional, and technically optimized within Unreal Engine 5. Your work will be crucial in establishing consistent UI/UX pipelines, supporting multiple game teams, and mentoring junior and mid-level artists to elevate their technical and artistic expertise.

The kind of stuff you`ll be doing:

Your daily work will combine hands-on implementation, technical problem-solving, and cross-project coordination:

  • Develop, implement, and optimize UI and UX systems in Unreal Engine (UMG/Slate, Blueprints, Materials, and Shaders).
  • Work closely with UI Artists, UX Designers, and Programmers to ensure seamless integration of design and functionality.
  • Maintain and evolve shared UI/UX frameworks and tools used across multiple projects.
  • Collaborate with Tech Art Leads and Directors to align visual style, performance goals, and technical workflows.
  • Identify and solve technical bottlenecks related to UI rendering, responsiveness, and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain UI/UX documentation, style guides, and best practices to ensure visual and technical consistency.
  • Mentor and support Junior and Regular Tech Artists through code reviews, guidance, and hands-on problem-solving.
  • Prototype and test new UI technologies, motion systems, and interactive components to improve player experience.
  • Support marketing and design teams with interactive prototypes or presentation setups when needed.

Who are we looking for:

We’re seeking an experienced and versatile technical artist with a strong background in UI/UX for games and a passion for solving creative and technical challenges.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in game development, including significant experience with UI/UX systems in Unreal Engine.
  • Proven expertise in UMG, Slate, Blueprints, and Material/Shader setup for user interfaces.
  • Solid understanding of UI/UX design principles, interactivity, and player usability.
  • Strong technical knowledge of performance optimization, UI scalability, and cross-platform implementation.
  • Ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously and manage priorities effectively.
  • Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills across art, design, and programming teams.
  • Experience mentoring less experienced team members and supporting process improvements.
  • Fluent in English (German is a plus).

Main responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain UI/UX systems and assets across multiple projects in Unreal Engine 5.

  • Support and train Junior and Regular team members to strengthen departmental expertise.
  • Participate in reviews, retrospectives, and workshops to improve cross-project collaboration.
  • Proactively identify areas for optimization in rendering, usability, and workflow.
  • Work closely with Leads and Directors to ensure alignment with project goals and Aesir’s long-term vision.
