Save Job

The LoopRoots Foundation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization dedicated to supporting justice-impacted families through transportation, therapy, and technology-driven programs.

Our mission is to remove the physical, financial, and emotional barriers that prevent families from maintaining meaningful connections with incarcerated loved ones, accessing mental health care, or navigating reentry.

Founded in 2025, the LoopRoots Foundation operates nationally, with an initial focus on underserved communities in Maryland, Arizona, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, California, and Virginia.

Key Initiatives

  • LoopConnect: A ride credit sponsorship platform that provides free or subsidized rides to prison visitation facilities, allowing families to stay in contact during incarceration.
  • LoopTalk: A HIPAA-compliant virtual therapy program offering trauma-informed mental health care to justice-impacted individuals and caregivers, including children.
  • LoopTroop Rideshare Partnership: We collaborate with the LoopTroop Rideshare platform to ensure families have access to safe, reliable, and culturally competent transportation services.

The LoopRoots Foundation is committed to using community-based, technology-enabled tools to restore dignity, promote healing, and reduce generational harm. All of our programs are offered without discrimination to build a truly supportive ecosystem for families across the U.S.

About The Role

LoopRoots Foundation is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Product Interface Designer to help design the user interface and interaction flow of our in-car vending system, which will be installed in LoopTroop rideshare vehicles.

This vending system allows riders to purchase snacks, drinks, or small items during rides through a touchscreen interface connected to the LoopTroop driver app.

The designer will work closely with our UI/UX team and hardware engineers to develop a clean, accessible, and engaging on-screen experience for both riders and drivers.

Responsibilities

  • Design the user interface for the in-car vending machine touchscreen (driver + rider view).
  • Map and visualize user flows for selection, payment, and item confirmation.
  • Collaborate with developers and engineers to ensure designs integrate seamlessly with LoopTroop’s mobile app and hardware systems.
  • Create high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, and wireframes in Figma or Adobe XD.
  • Focus on intuitive usability, quick navigation, and accessibility for all riders.
  • Participate in weekly virtual design reviews and provide design documentation for developers.

Ideal Skills

  • Experience in UI/UX design, product design, or interaction design.
  • Proficiency with Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
  • Interest in hardware + software interface design (touchscreens, kiosks, vending systems).
  • Creative thinker who can design for real-world physical use, not just apps.
  • Collaborative team player comfortable with remote communication.

What You’ll Gain

  • Experience designing for a social impact rideshare platform integrating technology, mobility, and accessibility.
  • Portfolio credit and reference letter upon successful completion of MVP phase.
  • Opportunity to transition into a paid Product Design or UI/UX role after launch.
