What You'll Do As a Technical Marketing Manager, you will support customers and drive product approvals in the Paper, Textiles, Paints, and Inks industries across North America. Your focus will be on our Resins & Polymers and Additives portfolios, including Hyperdispersants and Surface Modifiers.
Working closely with Account Managers, you will help turn technical solutions into sales by presenting Lubrizol’s value proposition and guiding customers on the best use of our products. Your role bridges technical expertise and commercial success, ensuring that strong technical relationships lead to business growth.
You will gather market insights directly from customers and use this knowledge to contribute to new product development and improvements. You will also build and manage a pipeline of technical projects with key accounts, helping Lubrizol stay ahead in the market.
What We're Looking For
Collaborate closely with Account Managers to help convert technical approvals and project wins into commercial sales, in alignment with North America business priorities and sales objectives.
Deliver professional and timely technical support to customers across the Resins (Acrylics, PUDs, Vinyls) and Additives platforms, ensuring that project needs, inquiries, and developments are fully addressed.
Support the successful implementation of new product launches and related activities, including entry into new market segments where applicable.
Act as the technical liaison between Lubrizol’s applications laboratory and customer technical teams, facilitating clear communication and effective problem-solving.
Contribute to the development of technical selling tools that reinforce our value proposition and enable effective market engagement.
Play a proactive role in generating and shaping new product ideas based on customer feedback and market trends.
Provide deep insight into customer applications, testing methodologies, and equipment, helping to inform product positioning and development.
Travel approximately 50% of the time for customer visits, technical support and participation in internal and external meetings.
Uphold Lubrizol’s Ethical, Legal, and HS&E standards at all times, demonstrating a strong commitment to safety and compliance.
Skills That Make a Difference
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in chemistry or a closely related field required.
Proven technical experience and regular customer interaction within the paper, textiles, paints, or coatings markets.
Strong knowledge of chemistry and hands‑on experience with formulating water‑based resins, including acrylics and vinyls.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% across North America for customer visits and meetings.
Familiarity with coatings portfolios is highly preferred.
At least 3 years of experience working directly with customers, including providing technical support and presenting solutions.
Demonstrated results‑driven approach and strong focus on customer satisfaction.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
