Studio Warehouse Assistant
EMERYVILLE, CA
Serena & Lily is seeking experienced freelance Warehouse Assistants/Merchandise Coordinators to assist in the handling and care of large furniture product samples, within a commercial photography studio. The work requires lots of heavy lifting, moving product, assembling furniture, setting up and breaking down photo sets, driving a 24 ft box truck, as well as warehouse/studio organization and maintenance duties. We are interested in professional, enthusiastic hard workers, with strong work ethics and positive attitudes to maintain productivity and orderliness of furniture and textile photo samples, within our large warehouse.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Load and unload box trucks
- Uncrate, unbox, move heavy furniture
- Assemble furniture and other photo samples, including prepare and clean samples to ensure they are photo ready
- Carefully move product on and off set, as well as pull product from warehouse shelves
- Continually organize the studio warehouse for orderliness, so that product and supplies are easily found
- Assist with assembling and breaking down set walls and floors, including some painting
- May be asked to drive a 24 ft box truck to pick up and drop off product, art and other supplies
- Maintain an exceptional work area for maximum creative workflow, including sweeping, dusting, mopping, breaking down boxes and garbage removal

- Safety: Responsibly manage product on and off set, and within the photo studio warehouse, with safety as the highest priority in performing your duties.
- Quality: Handle product with care and attention at all times.
- Efficiency: While maintaining safety and quality, operate in the most efficient manner possible, knowing that our timelines are often impacted by sunlight, weather, location and other contractual deadlines.
- Consistency: Contribute to continuous improvement of operations and organization and become a subject matter expert in your area of assignment.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Three months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge and experience with grip equipment and rigging are a plus
- Ability to take direction from multiple resources and knowing how and when to prioritize is key
- Written and verbal English language skills required
Physical Demands:
- The individual is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch or crawl. The individual is occasionally required to sit or balance.
- The individual must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred pounds.
COMPENSATION:
- $21-35/hr depending on experience This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated range for this role. The actual pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: experience, education, and skills.
