Job Title

Assistant Librarian - Law Library

Job Purpose

Provide legal research support to students, faculty, staff, alumni, members of the bar, and the public.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide legal research support to students, faculty, staff, alumni, members of the bar and the public; create, promote, and evaluate innovative library services and instructional materials; instruct the first‑year legal research course; present topical legal research presentations to law school and university classes and student groups; engage in research and scholarship relevant to librarianship, legal education, substantive legal subjects, or other academic disciplines; train and supervise law student library assistants and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA‑accredited institution; or Master’s degree in library or information science from an ALA‑accredited institution
  • At least two years of legal research experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Record of service in a library environment
  • Proven interest in or experience with teaching and instructional support
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise
  • Evidence of technical competency
