Description

We’re looking for a Senior UX Motion Designer, Mobile to join our mobile design team. This is a craft-driven role for someone who brings clarity and emotion to product experiences through motion—using transitions, animations, and interaction patterns not just to delight, but to inform, guide, and build trust.

You’ll work at the intersection of product thinking and interaction design, shaping how Oura feels across surfaces. You’ll define motion principles, build systems, and bring designs to life in a way that feels thoughtful, human, and responsive to context.

What You Will Do

  • Design motion-rich product experiences that improve usability, communicate state, and drive emotional connection
  • Translate product and technical requirements into expressive interactions, transitions, and micro-animations
  • Collaborate closely with product designers, engineers, and prototypers to define interaction patterns and hand off motion specs
  • Build and maintain motion libraries, behaviors, and systems that scale across the mobile app
  • Use prototypes (high- or low-fidelity) to communicate interaction concepts and test ideas quickly
  • Advocate for motion as a functional part of the user experience—not decoration—and articulate its role in product decisions
  • Bring a systems-thinking mindset to interaction design, helping ensure consistency, clarity, and cohesion across the app

This is a hybrid-remote role, with the expectation to work from our San Francisco offices at least half-time.

Requirements

  • 5 years + experience designing for mobile (iOS/Android) with a deep understanding of platform conventions and motion guidelines
  • Strong prototyping skills (Figma, After Effects, Play, Protopie or similar tools)
  • Experience building or contributing to interaction/motion systems within design systems
  • Familiarity with shipping motion in production in collaboration with engineers
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain motion rationale clearly to cross-functional teams
  • A passion for detail and a desire to make everyday interactions feel more natural, responsive, and human
  • A portfolio that demonstrates refined motion work in the context of real product experiences—not just animations, but meaningful interactions that improve UX

Nice To Have

  • Experience working on health, wellness, or data-heavy products
  • Comfort working in environments with scientific or technical constraints

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and equity packages
  • Health, dental, vision insurance, and mental health resources
  • An Oura Ring of your own plus employee discounts for friends & family
  • 20 days of paid time off plus 13 paid holidays plus 8 days of flexible wellness time off
  • Paid sick leave and parental leave
  • Amazing culture of collaborative and passionate coworkers
