Department Summary

The Department of Kinesiology, Health Promotion & Recreation offers a variety of programs of study in kinesiology, health promotion, and recreation, event, and sport management. The department offers teaching and non-teaching degrees and courses that fulfill university core requirements.

UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.

Position Overview

The Kinesiology, Health Promotion & Recreation Department seeks qualified individuals for our Adjunct Instructor pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for the Fall 2025, Spring 2026 and Summer 2026 semesters. The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses develop on a periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs. Location of course offerings will be at the Denton Campus.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have a Master's degree in area of teaching to teach at the undergraduate level and a Ph.D (or equivalent) to teach at the graduate level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous undergraduate or graduate level teaching experience in Kinesiology/Health Behavior, Fitness/Recreation, Event and Sport Management, or related field.
