Primary Purpose

This position is responsible for developing and managing Exelon's corporate external relations program, including media outreach, social media, policy advocacy, strategic partnerships, and other related duties. In addition, this position will develop and establish relationships with internal stakeholders and other external organizations (including media, state and local government, public interest groups) and serve as primary spokesperson to the news media along with the communications team. The incumbent will manage external communications resources as required; the assignment, editing and critiquing of external communications materials; coaching and feedback for employees and others assigned. Responsibilities

Develop and manage proactive communications and media outreach efforts to communicate company goals to external stakeholders, including customers, elected officials, regulators and media. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute campaigns and initiatives aligned with company goals. Develop and manage integrated and innovative social media campaigns focusing on customers and external stakeholders. Supervise budget planning and development. Direct a staff of six, including hiring, talent development, performance management and recognition. Develop and implement an external communications strategy, working closely with senior executive team and other directors across business units. Collaborate with directors of marketing and employee communications to ensure full integration of communications tactics across departments. Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and outside vendors to develop full‑service communications programs in support of company goals. Measure effectiveness of communications programs, provide oversight and ensure execution of programs. Provide high‑level thought leadership. Oversee a staff of six, including four senior managers and two specialists. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field. At least 12 years of relevant experience in a fast‑paced, dynamic and technical organization. 5 years in a leadership role. Intuitive and highly strategic thinker; exceptional experience leading a team of people; can engender support and trust from a team and lead through influence. Expertise in project management, ability to meet deadlines, establish clear priorities quickly and bring projects to completion on time and within budget. Proven track record of working effectively under pressure and handling a heavy workload. Ability to synthesize and communicate complex issues to various stakeholders. Strong intellectual capacity; a quick learner. Known ability to influence public opinion through leadership, credibility and clear message delivery. Highly strategic thinker who is self‑confident and appropriately aggressive, characterized by traits such as straightforwardness, flexibility, sense of urgency and comfort in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. Exceptional communications and interpersonal skills. In lieu of degree, 15–20 years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications

Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $168,000.00 – $231,000.00 per year plus an additional $50,000 in Long‑Term Incentive Plan annually.
