Job Summary As a HVAC Layout Designer, you will support design development of facility layouts and piping & equipment in a 3D model using S3D.
Major Responsibilities
3D modeling of HVAC Duct and equipment in S3D.
Preparation of drawings/documents for General Arrangements, HVAC orthographic drawings.
Assists with coordination of 3D model activities, i.e. input, interference reconciliation, etc.
Ensures compliance with approved PD&P design standards in own work and by those assigned, to provide quality design.
Ensures PD&P systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.
Reviews and checks calculations, design models, drawings and design documents prepared.
Interfaces with support engineers, construction, and suppliers during the preparation of 3D model and drawings for the purpose of model/space control, etc.
Possesses responsibility for the accuracy of bulk material quantity take‑offs and material requisitions for materials applicable to the discipline.
Works with designers in other disciplines to coordinate overall design and technical requirements.
Education And Experience Requirements
AA/AS or Certificate in Engineering/CAD with 3-4 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge And Skills
US Citizen or have the right to legally work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.
Must be able to complete and pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
Hands‑on experience using SmartPlant S3D modeling platform (preferred).
Understanding of the various HVAC system types, components, equipment and control systems.
Knowledge of national building codes and an understanding of ASHRAE standards.
Knowledge and understanding of the use of the V&IDs.
