Position overview and responsibilities reflect the daily duties related to imaging records, information release, and coordination within Renown Health System. The role involves connecting MDs/RNs/Technologists with Radiologists, uploading imaging studies to/from ancillary facilities, monitoring study progress in the PACS system, initiating on-call communications, and handling imaging information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. This position also provides coverage for Release of Information functions and requires using EPIC and PACS systems to locate electronic health information, processing releases, and answering inquiries related to patient imaging studies.
Overview The incumbent is accountable for daily image records maintenance for Renown Health System and for facilitating timely and accurate imaging workflows and information sharing within regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities
Maintain daily image records for Renown Health System.
Connect MDs/RNs/Technologists with Radiologists regarding imaging studies.
Upload imaging studies to/from ancillary facilities (e.g., via VPN, LifeImage, Powershare).
Monitor study progress through Synapse (PACS) to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
Initiate call-in process for On-call teams; communicate imaging information with patients and physicians within HIPAA guidelines.
Provide coverage for Release of Information functions, including written and verbal requests for health information.
Use EPIC and PACS to locate electronic health information, enter releases into the Release of Information module, and respond to inquiries related to patient imaging studies.
Operate and support imaging equipment and related systems (PACS, RIS, and other listed tools).
Process external and interdepartmental requests for information with HIPAA compliance; manage authorizations and non-compliant requests.
Collaborate with management to contribute input on topics of importance; contact and coordinate with various departments to support patient flow for imaging studies.
Maintain accuracy, function under pressure, and prioritize multiple requests from different departments while remaining courteous and professional.
Provide problem solving within established guidelines; escalate as needed for Release of Information or other policy matters.
Support Renown Imaging facilities with related duties as required. This position does not provide direct patient care.
Qualifications
Education:
Must have working-level knowledge of English (reading, writing, speaking).
Preferred: Associate’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field. Training in OS fundamentals and troubleshooting. May be substituted with non-degree technical training or 2 years of relevant medical imaging or IS support experience.
Experience:
One year PACS and EHR experience preferred.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and ability to use computers for online learning, forms, and policies.
