Position Overview Oversees and implements day-to-day media services to various units at the University of Toledo. Produces mediated material (video, audio, or other related material)—particularly of live events—in support of the Department of Communication & Media and the University as a whole.
Key Responsibilities
Produce mediated material (video, audio, or other related material) for live events and other programs.
Direct live multicamera video productions.
Serve as nonlinear editor for short- and long-form video projects.
Operate and maintain production equipment: switchers, character generators, playback servers, studio television cameras, ENG/EFP video cameras, audio consoles, nonlinear editing platforms, live streaming equipment, and network supervision.
Work with diverse populations in stressful environments related to live video production.
Instruct student workers on media creation and production.
Adhere to brand management principles and UToledo Office of Marketing & Communications branding guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communication or related field (broadcast or electronic media preferred) with a minimum of five years professional work experience in broadcast or electronic media production.
Proficiency in producing and directing live multicamera video productions.
Proficiency as a nonlinear editor for short- and long-form video projects.
Proficiency with equipment including production switchers, character generators, video playback servers, studio television cameras, ENG/EFP video cameras, audio consoles, nonlinear editing platforms, live streaming equipment, and network supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience advising student workers on media creation and production.
Knowledge of television hardware and software installation, maintenance, and operation.
Commitment to adhere to UToledo branding guidelines.
Communication and Other Skills
Effective interpersonal and group communication.
Outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to work with diverse populations in stressful environments related to live video production.
Demonstrated ability to instruct student workers.
