Summary
The CAD Designer (Civil 3D Technician) is a key contributor on our Land Development team at Sambatek. This highly productive role is primarily responsible for the design and development of civil engineering plan sets, leveraging company CAD standards and Civil 3D workflows. The individual will prepare detailed site layouts, grading plans, utility designs, erosion control plans, and plan profiles under the direction of engineers and project leaders.
This role thrives in a collaborative team environment and requires clear communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work within established timelines and project scopes. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and comfortable adapting to a variety of projects including commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments.

Work Location: Hybrid- in office Tuesday-Thursday, remote Monday and Friday optional
Expected Compensation Range: $26-32 per hour (Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications)
Pay Rate Type: Hourly with overtime rate of 1.5x base pay for all hours worked over 40 in a week
Responsibilities
Perform the necessary CAD drafting design tasks to prepare preliminary and final plans in accordance with client and Sambatek standards, while also performing calculations for the design
Review/understand local zoning codes, preliminary entitlements process requirement and submittals (City, County, DOT, watershed, etc.) and permitting requirements and submittals (City, County, State, etc.)
Work diligently with project manager and design team to complete work within scope, budget, and on schedule
Communicate and coordinate project work with all project team members
Maintain and organize project files in the network project folder
Complete specific quality control tasks with direction from the project manager or senior project engineer
Assist with maintaining existing client relationships by providing exceptional service and quality through the development of our documents and deliverables
Respond to Sambatek staff and clients in a timely fashion
Requirements
2-4+ years of experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
Experience with site layouts, grading plans, utility designs, erosion control plans, and plan profiles
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Work is primarily performed in an office environment
Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds
