Overview

We are seeking a Transmission Line Designer to join the Power Delivery Team in Florida. The ideal candidate will be a part of a team that provides designer support for large and small scale high voltage transmission engineering projects. Responsibilities

Work independently to perform transmission design tasks, CADD design, develop design drawings and documents, perform PLS-CADD modeling and/or analysis, prepare material lists, perform field reviews, and other tasks for simple projects. Prepare transmission related drawings such as plan and profile drawings, structural details, foundation details, and other engineering drawings. Perform calculations, reports and designs on transmission line design projects to support engineers. Understand client standards and complete small projects and simple to moderately complex tasks, exercising judgment in design criteria, evaluation, and design, subject to review by engineers. Communicate with Project Managers and Project Engineers. Required Qualifications

Associates or technical school degree or combination of education and relevant experience. 2+ years of experience developing CADD layouts/designs from engineering designs. Proficiency using Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and MicroStation. Experience with or ability to learn PLS-CADD transmission line modeling software Ability to be a lead technician and work closely with engineering staff. Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications

Experience with PLS CADD and PLS-Pole. 1+ years of direct Transmission Line Design experience. National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) knowledge. Leadership skills and a willingness to learn. Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm. Experience in structure analysis, project cost estimates, plan and profile preparation, load and designs, specifications and drawings, permitting, and other engineering documents. Work Environment

In Office/Hybrid work schedule in Orlando, FL. Office consists of about 80 employees (engineers, drafters, PMs, Directors, VPs, etc) from various engineering disciplines and specializations, including Civil, Transportation, Roadway, Building, Water, Airport, MEP, and Federal. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, Florida. Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
