Are you an interior design graduate (or soon-to-be) who’s eager to break into the industry? This hybrid role starts out supporting the administrative and operational side of a design-build company, with a path to transition into a full-time design position.
We’re looking for someone organized, reliable, and humble enough to learn the business from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to join an award-winning team and build deep knowledge of how high-end remodeling projects are executed—giving you a solid foundation before stepping fully into a design role.

Thayer Design Build is a residential remodeling company based in Corvallis, Oregon. We specialize in high-quality, design-driven renovations and need a sharp, capable team member to help keep our design and operations running smoothly. What You’ll Do
This is a hybrid position that starts primarily administrative, supporting our design, production, and office teams. As you grow and gain experience, design responsibilities will be gradually added. Administrative & Project Coordination (initial focus): Manage daily office operations—scheduling, paperwork, mail, and deliveries Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and clients professionally Support sales, marketing, production, and design teams Organize and maintain design samples and finish libraries Pick up and deliver materials, samples, and supplies Schedule and track subcontractor work and quotes Take site measurements and perform 3D scans Keep project systems, documents, and calendars organized Assist with material selections and presentation prep as design responsibilities grow Learn our tools and systems with the goal of becoming a full-time designer What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in interior design, architecture, or a related field (or graduating in 2025) Strong organizational and communication skills A positive, humble attitude and a willingness to do a variety of tasks Interest in a long-term design career, starting from the foundation Proficiency with basic digital tools (email, spreadsheets, etc.) Bonus: Familiarity with Revvit, AutoCAD, SketchUp or similar design software Why Join Us?
