Part Time Computer Science Content Coach

role at Acceleration Academies to support Graduation Candidates in mastering computer science coursework in a flexible, personalized learning environment. This role is ideal for a certified teacher who is passionate about helping young people grow and succeed, particularly in a virtual or hybrid educational setting.

Key Responsibilities

Provide academic coaching and instructional support in computer science for high school students.

Collaborate with staff and content teams to ensure alignment with curriculum and state standards.

Offer one-on-one or small group support sessions, helping students grasp key concepts, improve skills, and complete assignments.

Track student progress and communicate concerns or trends to leadership.

Maintain accurate records of student interaction and provide ongoing academic feedback.

Support a growth mindset and culturally responsive teaching practices.

Plan and deliver content-area instruction in both individual and small group settings

Monitor GC academic progress toward course completion and mastery using formative and summative assessments

Analyze and use academic data to inform instruction and improve outcomes

Provide remediation and enrichment opportunities to address learning gaps and accelerate success

Participate in professional development, data meetings, and school/community events

What We’re Looking For Education:

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred

Licensure:

Nevada 6-12 secondary certification in Computer Science (REQUIRED)

Experience:

2+ years of teaching experience (high school preferred)

Skills:

Strong communication, time management, instructional planning, and collaboration skills

Passion:

A deep commitment to helping at-risk youth succeed academically and personally

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in non-traditional or at-risk youth settings

Familiarity with behavior intervention strategies and alternative education models

Experience with competency-based learning, instructional coaching, or project-based education

Strong comfort with educational technology tools and platforms
