Pre-requisites / Qualifications

Qualified candidates must be credentialed to teach in the specific program or eligible to be credentialed. Examples of ideal qualifications include: A minimum of a master’s degree in the specific degree field, or a Master’s Degree with at least 18 graduate credits in a related field (example for business: business, finance, management, marketing, or related fields). Minimum of one year of full-time teaching experience, or the equivalent as an adjunct instructor. Higher education teaching experience preferred. An equivalent or applicable combination of education and experience to perform the duties of the position. Special skills: knowledge of pedagogy and relevant teaching experience; strong background in computers and technology; excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to research and analyze data; ability to work independently toward goals and deadlines. Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities preferred. This position requires residency in the State of Colorado and work within the state. Note: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Responsibilities

Teach classes as assigned by the designated supervisor. Prepare appropriate lesson plans aligned with course objectives. Develop and submit course outlines and syllabi to the supervisor. Develop measurable course objectives and plans. Establish a professional relationship with students and staff that encourages communication. Maintain accurate course records and complete required forms. Be available for student consultation. Assist in student recruitment, as appropriate. Assist in curriculum and instructional performance evaluations when agreed upon. Represent the college professionally in the community and promote a positive public image. Engage in professional development as required for credentialing. Other Information

Supervision: This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Instruction or designee. Supervisory responsibility: May supervise student employees. Special conditions: Background check required; may require travel; evening/weekend hours. Working conditions: Office-based in a computer environment; reasonable accommodations available per ADA. All faculty acknowledge that final payment of any contract may be withheld until submission of grades is complete.
