Teach: Visual Art Core Competencies
Using the Rubric of Effective Teaching, BPS emphasizes the following skills: Accountability for Student Achievement : Set ambitious goals, assess understanding regularly, and adjust instruction to meet goals. Communicating Content Knowledge : Demonstrate mastery and enthusiasm, connect content to real-world applications, and convey information engagingly. Equitable & Effective Instruction : Differentiate instruction, challenge and motivate students, and foster an inclusive classroom environment. Cultural Proficiency : Respect diverse backgrounds and create an inclusive environment. Parent/Family Engagement : Build respectful relationships with families to support student learning. Professional Reflection & Collaboration : Reflect on practice, seek feedback, and collaborate with colleagues. Qualifications - Required
Bachelor’s degree Valid Massachusetts Teaching License for Visual Art Meet all state and federal licensing requirements Ability to meet BPS Standards of Effective Teaching Authorization to work in the U.S. Qualifications - Preferred
Experience in urban schools Fluency in BPS official languages (Spanish, Creole, Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Somali) Certification in subject area and possibly in Moderate Disabilities or ESL Additional Details
