The Media Communications & Technology Department invites applications for our Applied Media Communications Adjunct Faculty Pool. We seek qualified part-time faculty to teach freshman- and sophomore-level courses across a range of media disciplines.
Overview We offer courses in Media Design Foundations, Photography, Video Production, Audio Production, Web Design I & II, Animation, Motion Graphics, and Job preparation. Courses may be day, evening, or asynchronous online.
Responsibilities
Teach assigned undergraduate courses on a part-time basis.
Prepare weekly course modules and related instructional media.
Evaluate student coursework and provide timely feedback.
Support student learning and department goals.
Respond promptly to university and student communications.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Use Canvas (course management system) and any textbook-specific systems.
Hold regular office hours to meet with students.
Participate in at least one professional development workshop per year.
Offer courses in person (day or evening) or asynchronously online.
Required Education Bachelor’s degree in a technical media field such as video production, web development, media design, photography, animation, audio, or a related discipline.
Required Experience
At least two (2) years of professional media production experience.
At least one (1) year of teaching experience.
Additional Qualifications Considered
Master’s degree in a media discipline or related field.
Experience teaching or working in multiple areas of applied media.
Teaching experience in a college setting.
