POSITION SUMMARY: This is an entry-level position within the Electric Distribution Designer progression. The role provides training and experience necessary for advancement to the Electric Distribution Designer 2L level. Responsibilities include field and design work related to the construction, operation, and maintenance of the company's electrical distribution system. Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders is essential.

PRIMARY DUTIES

Assist with duties related to the design and construction of electrical distribution systems under supervision.

Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure proper design and information flow for projects.

Provide accurate cost estimates and designs for residential services, relocations, and upgrade projects. Prepare documentation for system modifications.

Participate in weekly planning and scheduling meetings.

Assist with storm and emergency restoration efforts.

Adhere to environmental policies, design standards, and safety protocols in facility design.

Maintain customer focus, understanding and anticipating customer needs.

Update GIS maps and documentation as needed.

Monitor project timelines and respond promptly to inquiries from customers and contractors.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Education/Experience:

Associate degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Electricity, or related field, or 2 years of combined education and relevant experience. Successful completion of on-the-job training for Electric Distribution Designer 3L (typically 6 months) or equivalent experience. A Bachelor's degree in a related field also meets the experience requirement.

Knowledge/Skills:

Understanding of electrical and construction equipment, procedures, and nomenclature.

Ability to interpret blueprints and circuit maps accurately.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Proficiency in computer skills.

Must pass the EEI Tech Test.

Knowledge of National Electric Code and Electric Safety Code as they relate to service requirements and installations.

Valid motor vehicle operator’s license.

Compensation:

The salary starts at $37.41/hour and progresses according to the union contract. Benefits overview is available on the career site.

Additional Information:

Bargaining unit employees under the PSNH contract will be given first consideration. This position is open internally and externally. Candidates must pass the TECH Test and submit a resume with their application.
