Overview Learning and Development - Senior Instructional Designer. The Cincinnati Insurance Companies are seeking a Senior Instructional Designer to produce dynamic learning solutions across digital, blended, and instructor-led formats. You will partner with learning consultants, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to transform complex ideas into learner-centered content. This position is based at our Headquarters in Fairfield, Ohio.

Responsibilities

conduct thorough needs assessments to identify learning requirements of target audiences and translate insights into effective, tailored learning solutions

create clear, measurable, and behavioral learning objectives for projects

collaborate with learning consultants, developers, SMEs, and stakeholders to define project scope and timelines

provide input before development to ensure engaging learning experiences; review projects to incorporate feedback while meeting deadlines

design engaging learning activities and assessments aligned with learner needs and measurable outcomes

assist in selecting training methodologies considering medium characteristics and impact on effectiveness

design environments, scripts, storyboards, PowerPoint presentations, training plans, multi-modal AR/VR experiences, participant guides, and facilitator guides

support the design and development of leadership and management curricula to drive growth and strategic capability

deliver high-impact professional development resources through agency development programs

lead collaborative brainstorming with L&D developers to enhance engagement and effectiveness

partner with fellow instructional designers to develop evaluation tools and assessments across Kirkpatrick’s levels

evaluate current eLearning, videos, classroom events, and virtual training for quality and effectiveness and suggest improvements

stay current on emerging learning trends and best practices, including gamification, AI, and related methodologies

Qualifications

experience building and managing blended learning programs (virtual, hybrid, or in-person ILT)

knowledge of virtual training principles, tools, and strategies (synchronous and asynchronous)

working knowledge of Articulate 360 with emphasis on instructional design

proficiency with visual design tools (Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) to create accessible digital learning assets

experience designing and delivering management and advanced leadership training

experience developing formal training focused on soft skills

creative instructional design mindset with ability to present information in engaging ways

strong project management and organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects and deliver on time

ability to collaborate with L&D staff and build relationships with SMEs and stakeholders

excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence others

growth-oriented and agile mindset with a willingness to adapt and learn in a dynamic environment

Education And Experience

bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education or related field; master’s degree in Instructional Design and Technology preferred

three or more years of corporate instructional design experience

working understanding of ISD methods (ADDIE, SAM, or Action Mapping)

Compensation and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000 annually. Pay determination is based on education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.
