Missouri Baptist is looking to hire a Prior Authorization Rep, Full Time for their Ambulatory Team. This is an on-site position with daytime hours Monday–Friday; no weekends or holidays. Training will be on-site at Mid Campus Center off of Kings-highway. Responsibilities include handling patient registration and prior authorizations for ambulatory services. Preferred Qualifications

This role is critical in the financial clearance process, assisting BJC hospitals enterprise-wide in securing the appropriate authorization and/or Notice Of Admission (NOA) to prevent rescheduling the patient or risking net revenue loss. The role may involve obtaining authorization on behalf of physicians at Washington University School of Medicine and BJC Medical Group and requires maintaining positive relationships. The role supports scripting and validation of authorization data and NOA, and ensures accurate patient data in the medical record, particularly authorization data and status. The team member must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and familiarity with insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines, and federal/state/accreditation requirements. They represent BJC with a standard of customer service aligned to our mission, vision, values, and service standards. Responsibilities
Maintain high attention to detail and accuracy in validating patient information, scheduled tests/surgeries, and insurance information. Ensure authorization details in the medical record are correct and research mismatches across orders/scheduling/registration/insurance systems as needed. Communicate professionally with provider offices, insurance companies, and patients. Provide consistent excellent customer service and handle rescheduling calls as appropriate. Promote teamwork and engagement; seek opportunities for self-development while achieving department objectives. Support authorization for multiple BJC hospitals, including Ancillary Authorization, Surgery Authorization, and NOA processes. Initiate contact with provider offices and payers, access various systems, and, if needed, review medical records for Ancillary Authorizations. Adhere to safety requirements as a safety-sensitive position. Minimum Requirements
