Our client specializes in the design and implementation of fire protection and life-safety systems across commercial, industrial, and institutional projects and is looking to add an experienced Systems Designer to the engineering team, with strong technical design experience (Fire Sprinkler and/or Fire Alarm) and excellent communications skills. Job Title:

Fire Sprinkler Systems Designer Responsibilities Develop detailed sprinkler system layouts and design drawings in compliance with NFPA standards, building codes, and local jurisdiction requirements. Perform hydraulic calculations and system sizing to ensure proper performance. Prepare fabrication drawings, stock lists, technical submittals, and material takeoffs. Produce accurate and efficient designs using programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, AutoSPRINK, SprinkCAD, HydraCAD, HydraCALC, and HydraLIST. Work with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and AHJs to ensure code-compliant and constructible designs. Review contract documents, specifications, and site conditions to determine project requirements. Support project managers in design scheduling, budgeting, and progress tracking. Assist during construction by reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and conducting site visits as required. Provide accurate as-built drawings and support final inspections. Collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to deliver coordinated fire protection solutions. Mentor junior designers and CAD staff as needed. Qualifications Associate’s degree in Drafting/Design Technology or related field required. Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Fire Protection Engineering a plus. 5–10 years of proven experience designing fire sprinkler and/or fire alarm systems. NICET Level II or higher in Water-Based Systems Layout a plus Strong knowledge of NFPA standards, International Building/Fire Codes, and local codes. Proficiency in software programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, AutoSPRINK, SprinkCAD, HydraCAD, HydraCALC, and HydraLIST. Strong understanding of hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, and material specifications. Ability to read and coordinate with architectural, structural, and MEP drawings. Strong communication and organizational abilities. Capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines with attention to detail.
