Job Description - PUBLIC RELATIONS SPECIALIST (T230660)
Overview To strengthen and safeguard UAB's brand as a part of the Public Relations (PR) team through strategic content creation, management, and media relations, ensuring proactive and responsive communication.
Responsibilities
Develop content ideas and create materials such as news releases, feature articles, newsletters, and promotional assets for internal and external audiences.
Ensure clear communication of key messages while maintaining adherence to style guidelines.
Curate and manage media lists while coordinating proactive and reactive media efforts to enhance UAB's visibility and representation across national, regional, trade, and local news outlets.
Identify and implement the most effective channels and distribution methods to maximize reach, engagement, and impact.
Plan and execute PR events, including press conferences, to enhance media engagement and brand visibility.
Represent the institution as a spokesperson, managing official communications and media relations to uphold its reputation and strategic messaging.
Collaborate within the PR team to manage sensitive issues, facilitating and coordinating effective internal and external communications during crises and emergencies.
Coordinate with Marketing and Communications teams and key stakeholders to ensure alignment between central and distributed PR efforts with institutional messaging and objectives.
Compile and analyze relevant data to generate reports while staying informed on current trends and developments in the field.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Salary Range $47,665 - $61,965
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, public relations, or a related field. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
