Design Project Manager – EMCOR Group, Inc. Shambaugh & Son L.P., a wholly‑owned indirect subsidiary of EMCOR Group, Inc., invites qualified candidates for the Design Project Manager role. Shambaugh specializes in Design‑Build construction for industrial, commercial, institutional, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and bio‑fuel projects across the United States.

Job Summary The Design Project Manager will lead the design and execution of mechanical, electrical, process, automation, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems on new and retrofit projects. Responsibilities include coordinating multidisciplinary design teams, managing project schedules, ensuring compliance with codes and specifications, and producing high‑quality design deliverables.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead the design and layout of fire sprinkler systems, mechanical and electrical components, and BIM modeling.

Read and interpret contract documents, specifications, and design drawings across all disciplines.

Write, plan, coordinate, and present design concepts to clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

Perform hydraulic calculations, cost analysis, and BIM coordination to support schedule and budget objectives.

Develop positive relationships with clients and ensure satisfaction through proactive communication.

Provide design deliverables using AutoCAD, HydraCAD, AutoSprink, Revit, and BIM tools.

Coordinate fabrication lists, field surveying, and trade coordination to maintain design quality.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and mathematical aptitude with attention to detail.

Proficient in AutoCAD, HydraCAD, AutoSprink, Revit, and BIM software.

Experience with hydraulic calculations and fire sprinkler design.

Ability to adapt to a changing environment and manage multiple priorities under time constraints.

Flexible to travel to client sites as needed.

Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours, weekends, and travel.
