Senior Lighting Designer – Chicago, IL

Overview We are looking for a Senior Lighting Designer who will lead the design of lighting solutions for Hospitality, Healthcare, and Entertainment Buildings from concept to commissioning.
This role is based in our Chicago office and offers a flexible hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
Lead the development of creative lighting designs that meet artistic and technical requirements.
Provide fixture specifications, custom fixture design, and hand‑drawn sketches for early design phase submittals.
Present conceptual design to clients and the design team in collaboration with Associate Lighting Designers.
Represent the lighting discipline in creative meetings with design teams and clients.
Create discipline work plans to meet project scope within budget.
Direct and mentor junior Lighting Designer staff.
Coordinate with other disciplines and direct programming staff during commissioning to achieve creative intent.
Offer creative problem‑solving for challenging issues.
Travel nationally and internationally as required by project.
Qualifications
5–10 years of professional experience in lighting design.
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or MFA with a focus on Lighting Design.
Associate IALD membership preferred.
Proficiency in REVIT MEP and AutoCAD.
Strong creative, technical, and communication skills.
Compensation The salary range for this role is $80,000 – $95,000.
Actual compensation packages are based on factors that are unique to each candidate, including skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
