Marketing & Operations Lead
TetherIA, Santa Clara, CA, United States
TetherIA is a VC‑backed Bay‑Area startup founded by alumni of Tesla, Waymo, and Apple. Our mission is to endow robots with
human‑level dexterity
by pairing high‑DOF robotic hands with state‑of‑the‑art perception and control. We ship real hardware, iterate fast, and validate every idea on the bench. If you thrive on turning first‑principles designs into production‑ready systems, come build the future of manipulation with us.
We’ve just launched our first product: the
Aero Hand Open
— a $350 open‑source dexterous hand for embodied AI, research, and robotics development. It’s affordable, functional, and open — built for researchers, developers, and hobbyists around the world.
Now that our first product is live, we’re looking for our
first non‑engineering hire
to help us grow — connecting with users, managing orders, running events, and telling the world about our vision.
With the product launch complete, we are expanding our team beyond engineering for the first time. We are hiring a
Marketing & Operations Lead
to handle all non‑engineering activities related to the product, from community engagement to marketing, logistics, and events.
Responsibilities Community & Customer Engagement Serve as the main contact for customers, collaborators, and research partners Follow up with early adopters and handle incoming order and collaboration requests Manage communication channels and maintain strong relationships with the community
Marketing & Brand Growth Manage and update company website, online store, and social media presence Plan and execute marketing campaigns, newsletters, and product announcements Coordinate participation in events such as conferences, demo days, and hackathons Create marketing materials including brochures, blog posts, and digital assets
Event & Operations Support Organize and coordinate demo booths, hackathons, and community workshops Support logistics for product shipments, sponsorships, and event participation Track and manage basic operations related to orders, vendors, and fulfillment
Qualifications Required Strong organizational and communication skills Experience managing customer relations, marketing tasks, or event coordination Ability to operate independently and take initiative in a fast‑moving environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Preferred Experience in a robotics, AI, or hardware startup environment Familiarity with open‑source communities or research ecosystems Working knowledge of Shopify, GitHub, Notion, or related tools Understanding of ROS, robotics simulation, or technical product communication
Why Join TetherIA This is a rare opportunity to join a high‑impact robotics startup at the ground floor.
You will work directly with the founding team and shape how TetherIA interacts with its users, community, and partners worldwide.
Your work will directly influence how embodied AI research and open‑source robotics reach a global audience.
