What You'll Be Doing Are you passionate about public health and skilled in communication? Join our dynamic team as we seek a creative and experienced

Department Communications Consultant . In this role, you will play a vital part in shaping our messaging and engagement strategies to connect with all Public Health staff effectively.

Develops and maintains a robust intranet site and other communication channels that supports employee engagement and internal communication with all staff in the department

Applies knowledge of content management and web authoring tools to maintain a comprehensive content calendar that promotes service integration and maintains the quality of content on the Wake County website

Coaches and supports division representatives responsible for updating content

Designs templates, reports and other written materials for use with internal and external audiences

Adheres to Wake County Communications and IT standards while continuously enhancing personal proficiency, staying current with industry trends, and applying emerging technologies to improve county operations

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or related field

Two years of experience in journalism or public relations

Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)

Experience working for a government agency, specifically Public Health

Market Range: 55,973.00 - 95,158.00
