Overview The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for leading & driving top line revenue strategy for traditional sales segments including group, volume transient & catering. The role involves market analysis, competitive assessment, marketing communications planning, budgeting, and managing the sales & marketing budget to achieve revenue targets.

Responsibilities

Lead & drive top line revenue for traditional sales segments to include group, volume transient & catering.

Assess & react to market trends, market share & the competitive hotel environment.

Develop & implement a marketing communications plan designed to achieve the desired positioning of the hotel.

Act as the hotel’s voice of the customer and communicate key issues/concerns at all levels of the organization.

Use Smith Travel Research data, financial P&L, and sales forecasting to support decision making.

Conduct comprehensive competitive set reviews, SWOT analysis, and monitor new supply.

Develop and implement segment strategies and manage key accounts.

Design sales deployment schemes, assign markets, and set sales goals to meet budget and market share targets.

Manage group pace measurement, sales production goals, and sales activity schedule.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing preferred.

At least 3 years of experience as a sales leader with prior hotel sales experience.

Experience dealing with ownership groups and asset management.

Proficiency in sales automation (DELPHI) and PMS systems.

Experience collaborating with revenue management.

Strong knowledge of market segments and channel sources and ability to develop strategic plans.

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to lead, train, motivate and drive a direct sales team.

Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
