Position : Intermediate Interior Designer (cities: multiple)
Position Summary
As an
Interior Designer
at DLR Group you will work as part of integrated design teams responsible for the design and delivery processes aligned with client goals, budgets and schedule parameters. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, including Education, Workplace, Healthcare, Justice + Civic, and Mixed-Use. You will join our team to design complex projects from schematic design to construction administration, develop comprehensive material and finish palettes, and collaborate with clients, contractors, vendors, and team members to prepare detailed specifications. What you will do: Demonstrate a strong ability in conceptual design, program development and space planning. Apply a strong foundation of comprehensive design and technical skillsets including creative design and drawing skills, graphic and oral design presentation skills, and 3D design/modeling ability. Develop a holistic design acumen addressing the 3-dimensional space, including functionality, program alignment, materials, volumes, and performance. Apply DLR Group practice standards to project deliverables across the project team. Lead collaboration at the project and integrated team level by generating design ideas and solutions. Communicate effectively with project team members through written, oral, and visual means. Prepare drawings, models, images, material & mood boards, and other documents related to the design. Contribute to the development of the design and the project with input from the Principal in Charge and/or the Design Leader for key project stages. Demonstrate strong client and time management skills. Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills. Meet deliverable deadlines to maintain the overall project schedule. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design 5 - 8 years of professional interior design experience Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and Designer Pages Pro 3D visualization software: Enscape, SketchUp, and Lumion; knowledge of Bluebeam Ability to work independently and in cross-disciplinary teams across multiple offices Ability to travel occasionally to support project tasks Preferred Qualifications Professional licensure LEED AP and/or other green certifications Interest in sustainability design Application notes Please submit your current portfolio/work samples in PDF format to be considered.
