MUSC Health . **Job Summary** Under general supervision, the Communications Specialist performs shift activities to ensure an integrated messaging system and a quality Call Center and Help Desk customer service program. This role manages customer interactions for clinical services and MUSC/MUHA’s consumers, triages patient calls, provides information, resolves issues, and refers calls to appropriate clinical teams. Answer all incoming calls to the main MUSC line. Direct calls from hospital staff and outside callers appropriately. Send emergency life safety group pages promptly. Maintain paging services and update on-call calendars. Answer customer calls with minimal wait times and ensure customer satisfaction. Accurately direct calls and pages professionally. Support emergency operations and events. Program and register pagers, maintain inventory, and monitor online paging services. Use Spok Smart Center console for monitoring and maintaining pages and directories. Provide directory assistance and outside dialing services, including international calls.
