On-Call IT Field Technician & TV Configuration San Jose, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, CA Location: Multiple U.S. Cities (In?house, On?site Support) Job Type: Independent Contractor (1099) Pay: $40$45/hour (on?site) Schedule: Flexible you accept jobs based on your availability Important Note: This is an on?call, 1099 independent contractor role with no guaranteed hours. You will join our technician network and receive job opportunities based on your location and stated availability. You decide which jobs you want to accept. About the Role We are hiring field IT technicians to confidently support a wide range of tech needs for residential and small?business customers. Responsibilities include troubleshooting PCs and Macs, resolving network issues, and repairing or configuring printers and scanners including network setup for Canon MF printers and G?series ink absorber error codes (e.g., 1700). Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair hardware/software issues on Windows and macOS systems Resolve boot errors, OS issues, and login problems Set up or troubleshoot Wi?Fi and wired internet connections Replace or upgrade hardware (HDD, RAM, cooling fans, etc.) Configure or connect printers and scanners (Canon, HP, Brother, etc.) Address common printer error codes (e.g., ink absorber, paper feed, connectivity) Perform general maintenance on multifunction printers (MFPs) Reinstall operating systems using bootable USBs or recovery media Install remote tools or shortcuts as requested Communicate clearly with customers and provide basic post?service support Document service visits and elevate complex issues as needed Requirements 2+ years of field IT support experience, including computer and printer work Familiarity with Canon, HP, and other common printer brands Knowledge of error code troubleshooting (e.g., Canon code 1700, boot issues, driver conflicts) Experience with both Windows (10/11) and macOS troubleshooting Must have personal tools (bootable USB, screwdriver set, etc.) Reliable vehicle and valid drivers license Smartphone with camera and data for documentation and communication Ability to work independently and maintain a professional demeanor Benefits $40$45 per hour for on?site time Flexible scheduling accept only the jobs that match your route and availability National brand recognition and continuous job offers Dispatch and tech support team available to assist remotely What To Expect After You Apply ????
