Color Designer – Skims Design Team We are seeking an highly creative and detail-oriented Color Designer to join the Skims design team in Los Angeles. In this role, you’ll drive color execution across Apparel, Footwear, and Accessories (AP, FW, ASX) —bringing innovative palettes and color strategies to life while ensuring accuracy, achievability, and alignment with the brand’s creative vision. Base pay range $45.00/hr - $50.00/hr Key Responsibilities Execute and finalize color designs across Apparel, Footwear, and Accessories with precision and creativity. Ensure consistency, achievability, and alignment with brand and seasonal direction. Review and validate samples with Design, Marketing, and Development teams for color accuracy and readiness. Maintain and update seasonal line art (SP27, SU27), ensuring schematics and product requests (PRs) are complete for hand‑off. Partner with Material Consultants to coordinate materials, color standards, and timelines. Manage color calendars, milestones, and deliverables for assigned categories. Collaborate with Design, Product Marketing, and Development to deliver color solutions that balance creativity, quality, cost, and manufacturability. Integrate consumer and market insights into color strategies for commercial success. Drive alignment and communication throughout the color development process. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Design, Fine Arts, or related field (or equivalent experience). 2–4 years of relevant experience in color design or product creation (apparel/footwear). Proven ability to manage complex color execution processes across multiple product categories. Strong foundation in color theory, materials, and digital design tools. Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable in fast‑paced environments. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Top Skills Expert proficiency in color design execution and digital asset management. Advanced understanding of color standards, trend translation, and material coordination. Strong schematic and line art maintenance skills. Experience with Aurora, GPIN, PDM, and digital palette tools. Ability to translate insights into visually compelling color strategies.
