Assistant Graphic Designer, SMU Apparel at KITH

Position Summary

The Assistant Graphic Designer will assist on all aspects of SMU from graphics, label development, and sample development. The role requires organization, keeping work‑in‑progress up-to-date, and serving as a liaison to cross‑functional teams to align all collections from a graphics and legal perspective.

Location

HQ - Williamsburg, Brooklyn (Full‑time, on‑site)

Compensation

$60,000–$65,000 annually

Responsibilities

  • Work and report alongside graphic designer and head of design across multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Collaborate to create mood boards, concept direction, project kick‑offs, and collaborative collections.
  • Assist in product development of graphic styles (understanding product lifecycle processes).
  • Support factory communications and organize labels, patches, hangtags, and samples as they are internally reviewed.
  • Act as liaison across teams for special projects involving labels, hangtags, samples, and co‑brand compliance.
  • Attend weekly design meetings and recap with graphic designer.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience.
  • Collaborative team player and self‑starter.
  • Illustration skills are a strong plus.
  • Detail‑oriented designer.
  • Experience with PLM and understanding.
  • Strong organization skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of fashion terminologies, product development, and design.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel, PLM systems, Adobe Suite.
  • Understanding of sports and knowledge of the fashion scene.
  • Fashion design tech skills are a strong plus.
  • Personal characteristics: responsible, organized, friendly, quick learner, detail‑oriented, trend aware, passionate.
