Senior Mechanical HVAC Designer

This role sits in the Advanced Manufacturing Group, delivering cost-effective and transformative projects to markets including chemical, electric vehicle, manufacturing, metals, pulp and paper, and more. You will work with engineers and designers to deliver innovative HVAC design solutions for heavy industrial clients, including field investigations, interfacing with clients and vendors, sizing and selecting equipment, and preparing construction design packages. You will be accountable for the schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks as you gain familiarity with the client’s expectations, scope, budget, and schedule. You will work with a multi-discipline, highly interactive team to meet client needs. Your role keeps the company connected, and you’ll receive support to be successful. Highlights of your contributions will include: Layout and design of HVAC systems Development of conceptual and preliminary design documents, including calculations for sizing and selecting systems, Air Flow Diagrams (AFDs), Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and general arrangements Development of final construction documents for systems such as chilled water, cooling water, etc. Coordination with other disciplines Bring your curiosity, talent for multi-tasking and collaboration, and strong organization, and we’ll help you grow and succeed. Layout and design of HVAC systems Development of conceptual and preliminary design documents (sizing calculations, AFDs, P&IDs, general arrangements) Development of final construction documents for HVAC systems (e.g., chilled water, cooling water) Interdisciplinary coordination Qualifications
At least ten (10) years of experience in the design of HVAC systems for industrial facilities Proficiency in Revit Thorough knowledge of codes and standards related to HVAC design Adaptability to a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines Ability to collaborate with the project team remotely Preferred/Additional
Software experience in AutoCAD, Carrier HAP, Trane Trace 700, and Trane Trace 3D Experience in the design of plumbing/utility systems Benefits and compensation
The base salary range for this position is $102,900.00 to $135,075.00 per year. Your actual pay will be based on skills, experience, location, and other factors. Jacobs offers medical, dental, vision, life insurance, a 401(k) plan, stock purchase opportunities, and other benefits. Eligible employees may enroll in deferred compensation plans. Jacobs provides a generous Paid Time Off policy and holidays. Some roles may include bonuses or stock-based rewards.
