The California Association of Health Facilities (CAHF) is seeking a

Healthcare Data Analytics and Visualization Designer

to transform complex healthcare data into clear, actionable insights. Collaborate with our policy directors and other stakeholders to deliver clinical, financial, and operational insights that strengthen our advocacy and improve member outcomes. This role is ideal for a data-driven storyteller who thrives at the intersection of healthcare, policy, and technology.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyze and interpret large healthcare datasets to uncover trends and inform strategic decisions.

Design interactive dashboards and visualizations using tools like Tableau or Power BI.

Collaborate with policy directors to define metrics and develop data products that support legislative advocacy.

Translate complex data into compelling visual narratives for clinical, operational, and policy audiences.

Ensure data accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.

Support predictive modeling and machine learning initiatives with visual outputs and data summaries.

Provide training and support to end-users on interpreting dashboards and reports.

QUALIFICATIONS Required

Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Data Science, Computer Science, Public Health, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in healthcare data analytics and visualization.

Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik).

Strong SQL skills and experience with data wrangling in Python or R.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of healthcare compliance and privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).

Preferred

Master’s degree in a related field.

Familiarity with healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, CPT).

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

Understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare quality metrics.

Experience with statistical analysis and predictive modeling.

Experience supporting legislative or policy advocacy through data analysis.
