Grain Group is seeking a Digital Strategy Director to lead a high-performance team of growth marketers, creatives, media planners, and data scientists in developing and implementing media strategies to drive concrete business growth for top-tier brands. The Director must demonstrate strong consultative insights, internally and externally, and display the leadership to guide holistic planning across Grain's portfolio of clients across Media (Programmatic, SEM, Social, Amazon, Retail), Analytics/Business Intelligence, and Performance-Driven Creative. This role involves developing and managing effective delivery media strategies aligned with client business objectives, as well as managing client expectations and communication throughout the engagement.
Responsibilities
Develop a strong understanding of the client’s products, competition, industry, marketing goals, and objectives.
Act as the chief architect of the delivery strategy, testing strategy, forecast, and plan for key accounts within the category.
Analyze performance data and site analytics to develop insights for use in quarterly and annual business reviews.
Be responsible for all client budgets and ensure they are being spent effectively and as scheduled.
Closely manage project plans, launch plans, scope of work, and delivery timelines to ensure each team is delivering on schedule and to specification.
Lead the team to achieve targeted performance KPIs and provide assistance, including optimizations and campaign troubleshooting.
Develop initial staff estimates, submit estimates for approval, and review estimated hours vs. actual hours to ensure accounts are being serviced at the correct level.
Coordinate strategies with internal teams (ADs, CIS, Organic) to develop fully integrated campaigns.
Collaborate with client teams and agency partners to ensure client goals are met.
Provide support and recognition for your team and effectively foster teamwork that drives motivation and retention.
Participate in the training, individual development, onboarding and mentoring of staff.
Think creatively and develop innovative tactics and offerings to advance the practice.
Actively contribute to corporate initiatives, automation projects, process changes, and roll-outs.
Stay current with industry trends and best practices.
Create POVs, best practices, and assist in developing process documents.
Qualifications
7+ years
in digital marketing/consulting with multi-channel responsibility;
2+ years
leading client-facing teams.
Proven ownership of a book of business with
P&L accountability
(revenue, margin, utilization, pricing).
Depth across: Paid Search & Social, Programmatic/CTV, Retail Media (Amazon/Walmart/Instacart), CRM/Lifecycle, Ecommerce (Shopify/Amazon), CRO/SEO, Analytics/Attribution.
Executive presence and communication skills—adept at framing strategy, risk, and results to C-suite stakeholders.
Strong analytics literacy (GA4, Looker Studio/BI tools); comfort with testing design, incrementality, and LTV/CAC logic.
Fluency with core tools/platforms: Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, DV360/CM360/SA360, Amazon Ads Console, Walmart Connect, Klaviyo/HubSpot, Shopify; project tools (Asana/Jira/ClickUp), and Slides/Deck creation.
Excellent organizational skills with bias for action; calm under pressure; elevates team craft and judgment.
Excellent verbal and written skills; exceptional organizational skills, multi-tasking capabilities, and attention to detail.

Compensation The anticipated base salary for this role is
$150,000 - $185,000 . This role is eligible for annual incentives and includes comprehensive benefits, including medical/dental/vision/life insurance, a 401(k) plan, and PTO. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including, without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held.
