The Morningstar Creative Services Team is looking for an exceptional Senior Copywriter with a passion for creating powerful copy that inspires action. In this role, you will lead content and writing efforts specific to marketing strategies and consumer insights. Your copy will drive engagement, inspire action and deliver on-brand messaging. All candidates must have a passion for marketing innovation, automation and creating content with scale and systems in mind.
This position is based out of our Chicago office.

Job responsibilities:
Partner with campaign managers and product marketing to understand target audiences and how our offerings help address their needs and pain points
Pair with designers from strategy to concept to execution to deliver powerful and beautiful creative marketing assets across channels and platforms
Demonstrate core marketing copywriting skills to create delightful, engaging experiences that reinforce the Morningstar brand via a natural language approach to brand voice and style
Think in systems and at scale, always keeping in mind what came before and what comes after for the reader or user
Write with digital searchability and primary key terms in mind and apply evolving SEO best practices.
Apply data and insights to inform and optimize marketing campaigns and demand generation messaging
Take sophisticated financial data and analysis and distill it into clear, simple headlines and copy that audiences will understand and connect with
Solve information and communication message challenges and skillfully present concepts with sound rationale to cross-functional team
Develop a marketing messaging system, including message maps and external language, that encompasses each stage of the marketing funnel and accommodates our full portfolio of products
Collaborate on competitive assessments and gather all necessary inputs to inform a strategy or vision
Champion automation, explore use of AI tools, and find opportunities to build content sets that increase speed to market, without sacrificing creative quality
Work cross functionally to partner and produce compelling storytelling content, anchored in business outcomes - across written, audio, visual, and interactive media.

Other qualifications:
5-7+ years of copywriting experience, including marketing, digital advertising, SEO, social media, email, event promotion, brand narratives, case studies in an agency or corporate environment
Experience writing and adapting brand voice to various audiences, purposes or media, through the marketing funnel while ensuring alignment to master brand
Excellent oral/written presentation skills; proficiency in preparation and presentation of creative work
Ability to work in a fast-paced, virtual environment managing multiple stakeholders, projects, and priorities
Knowledge of SEO principles and tactics
Experience in financial services and/or global brands is a plus
Proficiency in Word. Ability to embrace various content management systems
Familiarity with quantitative practices, like A/B testing and writing within messaging matrices
Bachelor's Degree in Writing, English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications or a related field preferred

Total Cash Compensation Range $92,525.00 - 157,275.00 USD Annual
