Aspen is looking for a Sr. Scientific Communications Manager to join its team. This new role reports to the Director, Medical Affairs and will develop and implement strategies to clearly and accurately communicate complex scientific and clinical information across diverse audiences. The ideal candidate has experience overseeing the creation of publications, presentations, and educational materials working collaboratively across functions. Key traits include impeccable ethical standards, proactive communications skills, and attention to detail.
This role requires occasional travel and can be done onsite, hybrid, or remotely from the United States. Relocation is not provided.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement scientific communication strategies aligned with medical affairs and corporate objectives, ensuring consistent and accurate messaging across all channels.
Manage the company’s publication process and committee activities to ensure all materials are developed, reviewed, and approved in compliance with policies, GPP, ICMJE, and regulatory standards.
Oversee the planning, creation and dissemination of scientific materials; including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, presentations, slide decks, fact sheets, and white papers for healthcare professionals, advocacy groups, and internal teams.
Translate complex scientific and clinical data into clear, engaging, and audience-appropriate content.
Monitor competitor communications and the broader scientific landscape to identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, R&D, and Corporate Communications to maintain alignment in scientific narratives.
Support medical congress activities, including abstract submissions, symposia coordination, and booth content development.
Ensure all scientific content meets regulatory, ethical, and compliance standards, maintaining proper version control and documentation for approved materials.
Provide scientific training, tools, and messaging resources for internal teams (e.g., Medical Affairs, Commercial, and Patient Advocacy).
Serve as a subject matter expert to ensure accurate and consistent use of scientific data across the organization.
Address scientific inquiries from healthcare providers, advocacy organizations, and other external stakeholders as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, Ph.D., etc) required
Experience in the field of neurodegenerative diseases, Parkinson’s disease preferred
Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry in medical affairs, publications, and/or medical communications.
Solid understanding of the U.S. healthcare environment, clinical trial/drug development, FDA regulations and other relevant guidelines.
