We are looking for a

Director of Communications Strategy

to join a growing media agency. This is a highly collaborative, strategy/comms planning role ideal for a strategic thinker and compelling storyteller with a background in brand or communications planning. You will act as the crucial link between client marketing objectives, audience insights, creative thinking, and media activation. What You'll Do

Partner closely with media planners, analytics experts, and creative partners to shape strategies that are insight-led, audience-first, and business-aligned. Develop communications frameworks that clearly define the role of media channels across the consumer journey. Serve as the strategic bridge between client marketing teams, creative agencies, and internal planning groups. Support brand positioning and message alignment across all media touchpoints. Lead research into cultural, behavioral, and category trends to uncover actionable insights that inspire strategy. Build detailed audience personas and journey maps by synthesizing syndicated tools (e.g., MRI-Simmons, Scarborough) and first-party data. Analyze competitive and industry activity to inform strategic POVs and positioning frameworks. Partner with the Chief Strategy Officer to shape campaign strategies for clients across sectors including healthcare, finance, retail, CPG, and education. Contribute to pitch development with persuasive narratives, audience strategies, and insights storytelling. Draft executive summaries and strategic responses for new business and RFP submissions. Collaborate on the development of new methodologies, tools, and POVs, especially those leveraging AI, measurement innovation, or emerging platforms. Help evolve our agency’s strategic thinking by integrating new data sources, research methods, and storytelling formats. Ideal Candidate Profile

5–8 years of experience

in communications planning, brand strategy, or media strategy, ideally in an agency environment. Demonstrated ability in strategic research and synthesis—able to move quickly and effectively

from data to insight to idea. Familiar with media research tools such as

MRI-Simmons, Scarborough, and Nielsen , and established audience segmentation methods. Adept at building clear, visually compelling presentations in

PowerPoint and Keynote. Comfortable presenting to internal and external stakeholders with a clear and persuasive writing voice. Seniority level
