Software Interaction Designer

IDEXX . In the Veterinary Software organization, you will lead the ideation and design of the user experience for IDEXX products through user-centered methodologies. You will apply visual and interaction problem solving to deliver world class veterinary products. You will work in a cross-functional environment with business partners, usability engineers and development teams. This role helps build the foundation for IDEXX’s reporting function—shaping how data is captured and leveraged across the organization. You’ll be part of a highly collaborative team with direct impact on the company’s financial success. Our work helps clients—veterinary clinics and professionals—make smarter, data-driven decisions that improve care and drive growth. IDEXX is innovating in the animal health sector, introducing products and data capabilities that are standard in other life sciences but new here. The role offers the chance to modernize customer processes. Responsibilities
Designs user interfaces for Company software, hardware and web products to meet customer needs and deliver optimum user experience. Leads interface idea generation, design and prototyping and works with project staff throughout development and testing phases to complete projects. Coordinates with product management, development, quality assurance, visual design and usability engineers to understand product requirements and identify solutions to UI challenges. Develops creative responses to UX issues that arise during development and testing. Builds prototypes and simulations of user interfaces. Produces wireframes, flow diagrams, specifications and other design related documentation. Participates in user research and observes usability tests organized by usability engineers. Extends and maintains pattern libraries, and other standard resources, to document common approaches to Company UI design. Builds interface design discipline as a component of the product development process. Advocates for user-centered design processes and contributes to the overall user experience of Company products. What you need to succeed
Expertise in B2C, particularly mobile Ability to handle dense data onboarding and create simple experiences AI interface experience is highly preferred Data architecture expertise: designing scalable data models, schemas, and pipelines Experience in quantitative analysis, problem solving, and data visualization Experience with Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, or similar frameworks Proficiency in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Expertise in cloud-based data platforms (Snowflake) Experience with relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) databases Familiarity with GDPR, HIPAA and data security best practices Experience with cloud technologies and SaaS environments Systems and/or software design Agile processes including Scrum, Kanban, and/or others 7+ years of experience with big data and analytics Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Why IDEXX
