Overview The ideal candidate for the
Multimedia Designer
position should demonstrate innovation and successful application of domain skills in the creation and execution of a broad range of product materials. This includes digital graphics, video production and editing, motion graphics, CAD, 3D modeling and animation, photography, and content creation for electronic and print media. The candidate should have a strong portfolio showcasing creative storytelling, technical communication, and the ability to transform complex product concepts into compelling visual narratives for diverse audiences. This could include diagrams, complex presentations, spec sheets, etc. Though not the primary focus of the role, the ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of UI/UX principles to effectively collaborate with product teams and contribute to interface design discussions.
The Titan has been organically developed over several years into a software-driven CUAS platform used by global military customers to meet diverse mission needs, presented in a package that emulates a consumer-level out-of-box experience. The Multimedia Designer will create engaging content that communicates product capabilities and value to both technical and non-technical audiences (internal stakeholders as well as military users), including marketing materials, training videos, product demonstrations, trade show assets, and supporting graphics for product interfaces. Also important is the ability to work with and manage vendors to ensure deadlines are met and quality is maintained.
Keys to success in this role are communicating original concepts and suggesting improvements, defending design decisions, working collaboratively with engineering teams, understanding how the product works and who uses it, and delivering high-quality multimedia content that aligns with brand standards and project timelines. This role is highly collaborative, requiring flexibility and a willingness to accept input from stakeholders to reach design goals through the effective use of design domain skills. This position provides an opportunity to make a high-visibility contribution to a system that helps to ensure the safety of civilian and uniform personnel worldwide.
Primary Responsibilities
Design collateral for print & digital channels (brochures, one-pagers, general graphics)
Produce CAD drawings and 3D renderings / animations of products & systems
Photograph products, events, and facilities for marketing & documentation
Edit and optimize multimedia assets for various use cases
Ensure consistency and quality for all deliverable materials, incorporating best practices for asset modularity, storage, and re-use
Develop video content for items such as product demonstrations, training materials, promotional videos, etc.
Product & Collaboration
Develop understanding of product capabilities and customer expectations, specifically characteristics and requirements of end users
Present design ideas to elicit and incorporate feedback from stakeholders
Contribute to discussions about human-computer interaction (HCI) elements for resource-challenged customers
Collaborate with product & engineering teams to translate technical concepts into accessible visual content
Provide design input on interface graphics and iconography
Manage to deliverable deadlines, ensuring vendors are meeting stated goals
Coordinate with external vendors and contractors
Safeguard AV/Titan Intellectual Property & assets
Desired Skills
Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
Prepress and print production experience
Experience with 3D modeling and animation software (Blender, Cinema 4D, or similar) and photography skills with DSLR/mirrorless cameras
Strong understanding of design & layout principles; proportion, color, typography, aesthetics, and ease of use
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into engaging visual stories and create unique graphic designs and assets for re-use
Project management skills; working with vendors to ensure design deadlines are met
Experience managing content libraries / digital asset management, specifically Figma
Skilled in eliciting and implementing user feedback with inputs from multiple sources
Video production experience including shooting, lighting, audio, and editing; motion graphics and animation
Working knowledge of UI/UX design principles, Figma/InVision, and exposure to interface design for complex systems
Location/Schedule
In person at the AV office in San Diego CA, regular business hours
Requirements
The candidate should have 2-5 years of relevant experience in multimedia production or design
Portfolio showcasing video production, motion graphics, 3D work, and graphic design projects (online or to be shared during interview process)
A degree BA/BS in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Multimedia Arts, or related discipline is desired
Salary Range Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000/year
The AV pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several factors including, but not limited to, level of position, job responsibilities, geographic location, scope of relevant work experience, educational background, certifications, contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, alignment with local internal equity as well as alignment with market data.
