Overview
The Hyatt Regency New Orleans is seeking an Event Planning Manager to join our Events team. We are located in the downtown area near Champions Square, Smoothie King Center, and minutes from the French Quarter, Arts District, and Mississippi Riverfront. The property has 1,193 guestrooms and 200,000 square feet of event space. The Event Planning Manager's primary focus is servicing Sales bookings. This role serves as the liaison between Meeting Planners and hotel staff to provide direction and organization during execution of meeting and banquet events. The EPM will be available to guests throughout the event progression to solve problems and suggest alternatives to prior arrangements. They will also directly serve on-site group and catering guests in a proactive manner. Responsibilities
Administer the Sales agreement and detail all Food, Beverage and A/V needs. Manage room blocks, pick up, and meeting spaces; oversee the billing instructions/process and final review. Act as the on-site contact to ensure the smooth execution of all events. Contribute to re-booking group business for future dates through up-selling and by developing/maintaining relationships with meeting planners. Benefits

Qualifications
1–3 years of hotel event planning experience (minimum) Bachelor's degree and/or 2+ years of hotel and/or food & beverage experience preferred Strong computer proficiency and knowledge of standard software programs Desire to satisfy others in a fast-paced environment with refined verbal and written communication skills Ability to communicate effectively with public and team members; professional appearance and demeanor Detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle a fast-paced environment Strong time management, multi-tasking, and ability to work under pressure Knowledge of contract negotiation and interpretation; understanding of hotel operations (guest services, reservations, housekeeping, AV, banquets, accounting, restaurants, engineering) Demonstrates positive leadership and the ability to inspire teams to exceed standards Knowledge of meeting room setups and sleeping room configurations; ability to respond to requests promptly Experience creating and revising rooming and VIP lists; managing meeting space for revenue optimization Maintain price integrity in rooms and F&B using revenue management principles Pre-check room setups prior to group arrival; provide forecast information for rolling forecasts Experience interacting with outside planners and vendors for event setup Experience growing existing accounts and pursuing future business Upselling techniques to increase revenue per attendee; knowledge of menu writing to fit event needs Preferred candidate has completed PSS or equivalent training
