Role The regional managing editor is a key role helping to deliver our PRA strategy by leading and managing a team of price reporters and team leaders across related commodity areas. The role is accountable for developing and executing the regional strategy for the relevant markets under its remit, and for contributing to and helping drive the global strategy. The regional managing editor implements broader growth strategies and shapes the Fastmarkets vision. The role balances market coverage with maintaining unique content and commentaries that support pricing services; engages with market participants to drive adoption; and balances managerial responsibilities with their own team member duties. The goal is to drive excellence across the regional team, establishing the group as industry experts, ensuring a constant stream of leading content and robust, correction-free pricing, and overseeing, nurturing and developing a high-performing team of market experts.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage up to 20 reporters in a region, with day-to-day operations coordinated by team leaders; be accountable for regional strategy and support the editorial director to drive global strategy.
Uphold the integrity of our prices by modeling the price development process and ensuring team adherence when launching, amending or discontinuing prices.
Build trust in and drive usage of our prices by championing an IOSCO-compliant approach to price reporting; ensure processes around pricing, methodologies and audits are followed.
Adopt and drive the LPDA (Launch, Promote, Defend, Attack) approach to price development and engagement campaigns.
Coach editors and collaborate with the editorial operations team to improve content quality and delivery, highlighting expertise and value-added reporting.
Lead market engagement through meetings and events to drive price adoption; share insights with stakeholders to improve interactions and opportunities.
Manage the regional team’s responsibilities and diary to ensure coverage during leaves or travel; cooperate with other teams as needed.
Balance regional coverage with strategic pricing oversight to ensure collaboration between pricing and editorial work.
Coordinate cross-functional, cross-department and cross-regional collaboration to enrich content and pricing coverage.
Support staff development and retention; promote Fastmarkets’ values and recruit high-calibre candidates for pricing and related teams.
Key interfaces
Reports to the global editorial director for the relevant vertical; provides strategic input to cross-functional initiatives.
Manages price reporters and team leads to implement Fastmarkets’ PRA approach.
Works with global editors, managing editors and price development teams on price benchmarks, products and market coverage.
Engages with industry participants to gather insights, gain feedback and promote price quality; relays feedback to stakeholders.
Collaborates with Editorial Operations to ensure content aligns with PRA strategy and style.
Engages with other leaders to develop prices and content; coordinates with market development to highlight opportunities.
Fosters relationships with Strategy, Marketing, Product and Events to promote products and services.

Strong background in pricing markets and journalism with expertise in relevant commodity sectors.
Understanding of the use of Fastmarkets’ prices as benchmarks; experience with high-pressure benchmark markets is welcome.
Proven leadership ability: plan, motivate, delegate and achieve results through others.
Experience in recruiting, training and mentoring teams to meet Fastmarkets’ standards for pricing, content and market coverage; including objective setting and performance reviews.
Experience in managing people managers and coaching them to drive performance.
Experience in market engagement, including organizing roadshows, webinars, external meetings and speaking at events.
Budget management and resource prioritization to achieve efficiencies and results, with ability to defend spending plans.
Ability to operate within a matrix management structure and with external stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple projects with a clear, coherent vision.
Support risk and compliance in audit activities and ensure team familiarity with processes under review.
