The Vaccines Medical Communication and Content Director will oversee development and execution of scientific communication strategies for Pfizer vaccines, with a focus on delivering a singular scientific voice anchored to the evidence. The role involves ensuring alignment with Therapeutic Area priorities and optimizing engagement and reach of emerging scientific information within the Vaccines community. Responsibilities

Report to the Team Lead within Pfizer Medical Content and Communication, Vaccines. Lead the development and execution of impactful scientific communication strategies for assigned Pfizer medicines, with a focus on achieving a singular scientific voice anchored to the evidence. Ensure that overall scientific communication and content strategies reflect Therapeutic Area priorities and that tactical execution of medical and scientific communication activities optimize engagement and reach of emerging scientific information within the Vaccines community, according to strategy. Focus on achieving a singular scientific voice anchored to the evidence and be a subject matter expert in one of the following capabilities: Data Disclosure (Publications) or Medical Content. Collaborate with TA teams and Sci Comms colleagues to drive publication planning, writing, and dissemination of data from clinical trials and research activities. Create a wide range of engaging and informative scientific content for diverse channels and audiences (e.g., medical resources, congress materials, digital platform content). Functional Focus Areas

Data Disclosure (Publications) Focus : Drive and deliver on data disclosure plans, including Plain Language Summaries (PLS) and Enhanced Publication Content (EPC); work with clinical study teams to determine publication content; update global publication plans regularly; engage with external stakeholders on publication activities. Medical Content Focus : Lead content strategies and projects for external and internal medical channels; develop external medical-to-medical content for field, headquarters, congresses, digital platforms, and other channels; ensure updates to global congress content and alignment with cross-functional stakeholders. Roles and Responsibilities by Area

General: Integrate stakeholder input into scientific communications planning to meet the needs of Vaccines Medical TA teams. Engage with external medical community on activities related to key clinical trial data readouts; align with product stakeholders to optimize data dissemination. Provide strategic sci comms guidance and subject matter expertise; lead budget management and, if applicable, manage agencies and offshore teams. Collaborate with International Medical Communications and Content teams to share deliverables with country medical colleagues for adaptation. Maintain thorough understanding of the therapeutic area, policies, and assets to act as or identify the appropriate Subject Matter Expert for internal/external stakeholders. Build collaborative relationships to ensure optimal creation and execution of TA medical communications strategies. Stay abreast of US regulations and guidance impacting digital delivery of scientific information to external HCPs. TA Communications

As a core member of the Global Medical Affairs Team (GMAT), identify the need for and establish the Scientific Communications Platform (SCP) for TA products early in development based on target profile, clinical evidence, disease state/landscape, and label aspirations. Ensure SCP alignment with broader TA narratives; maintain SCPs for products and develop global medical narratives and FAQs around key data disclosures. Collaborate with clinical/medical teams during data readouts to determine key messages aligned to the SCP; coordinate with non-medical stakeholders to ensure consistency of scientific communications. Co-chair medical communications and content sub-committees of GMAT. Data Disclosure

Drive data disclosure plans, including PLS and EPC; work with study teams during data readouts to determine publication content. Update global publication plans regularly and engage with Pfizer stakeholders on publication activities. Serve as a core member of medical communications and content sub-committee(s) of the GMAT. Content Focus

Lead content strategies and projects across therapeutic areas and channels to advance content impact; deliver external and internal medical content for congresses, digital platforms, and other channels. Coordinate updates to global congress content with cross-functional stakeholders; ensure content creation aligns with Vaccines Global Medical TA needs. Resolve content creation issues with medical affairs insights and regulatory considerations; define TA training content with support from Platform training teams when applicable. Serve as a core member of medical/sci-comms sub-committees of the GMAT. Qualifications

Advanced medical/scientific degree (MS, PhD/PharmD or MD) with 7+ years’ experience if Master’s, 5+ years’ if PhD/PharmD, or 4+ years’ if MD, in biopharmaceutical/biotech or related medical communications roles. Willingness to become a subject matter expert in disease area. Experience developing strategic scientific communications and other scientific content to support scientific exchange; proficiency with tools to meet HCP needs. Strong understanding of Medical Affairs, disease areas, and objectives; ability to translate complex science into clear communications across multiple channels. Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong interpersonal and matrix leadership abilities. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects with deadlines; experience in a regulated environment delivering compliant yet innovative scientific content. Experience with omnichannel content development (publications, PLS, congress materials, digital platforms, etc.) and scientific peer-reviewed publications. Proven leadership capabilities, including influencing, coaching, and guiding peers to achieve outcomes. Preferred Qualifications

Vaccine experience strongly preferred Non-standard Work Schedule, Travel or Environment

Domestic / International Travel up to 15-20%. Location

Hybrid role requiring you to live within commuting distance and work on-site an average of 2.5 days per week. Other Job Details
