CBS Stations is hiring a digital producer to create compelling, timely content for CBS New York's digital platforms and work with CBS News teams in the northeast! We are looking for journalists who are passionate about the future of digital journalism to help develop our daily and longer‑range coverage.

Digital producers are primarily responsible for writing stories and clipping videos for the CBS New York section of CBSNews.com, our app, our YouTube channel and across emerging digital platforms. Producers will collaborate with CBS News teams in additional northeast regions to develop digital content tailored to their audience.

Qualified candidates possess strong information gathering, writing and editing skills and can balance breaking news with longer‑term enterprise reporting, working with the newsroom to deliver the best that CBS New York has to offer across digital platforms.

Responsibilities

React quickly to breaking news, writing, editing and publishing articles and running live blogs

Use a mix of editorial judgment and analytics to help shape content priorities

Work with the CBS New York newsroom to execute on digital content to supplement or advance TV content

Pitch, research and complete impactful articles for digital platforms

Clip high‑interest video content for distribution across platforms

Live stream breaking news and other high‑interest events on YouTube

Create topical long‑form content for YouTube

Proactively plan content around key news events and tentpoles

Send push alerts and write newsletters

Qualifications

You have 3+ years of experience in a digital breaking news environment and a proven ability to react quickly as news develops

You are a self‑starter who is a strong writer and self‑editor with a deep understanding of content framing across platforms

You're passionate about the advancement of journalism, continuously exploring novel and emerging digital possibilities for news organizations.

You're deeply familiar with analytics platforms like Google Analytics, Omniture, Chartbeat and Parse.ly

You thrive in a team environment

Additional Information Hiring Salary Range: $90,000.00 – 95,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job‑related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
