Associate Editor !
Do you thrive on breaking news and shaping stories that influence a global industry? SeafoodSource.com is seeking an Associate Editor to join our editorial team. This role is responsible for generating timely, accurate, and engaging news coverage that supports our mission to inform and connect the global seafood industry. The Associate Editor will manage daily and weekly newsletters, maintain best practices for online content and SEO, and collaborate closely with the Editor and Executive Editor in a fast-paced environment.
Your Key Responsibilities
Content Creation: Write original news articles and editorial content for SeafoodSource.com and e-newsletters, ensuring accuracy and adherence to AP style.
Newsletter Management: Oversee production and timely delivery of daily and weekly e-newsletters using Marketo.
Digital & Social Media: Develop and post content across social media platforms to grow audience engagement and drive traffic.
Event Coverage: Attend and report from industry events, conferences, and expos; travel required.
Special Projects: Contribute to e-books, show guides, multimedia projects, and other long-form editorial initiatives.
Research & Multimedia: Conduct independent research, network within the industry, and produce photos/videos to support editorial content.
Your Skills & Qualifications
Experience: Prior experience in journalism; B2B publication experience highly preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, or a related field is a plus.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in AP style, CMS platforms, Microsoft Office; familiarity with Photoshop, and PACER preferred.
Digital Expertise: Knowledge of SEO best practices, social media content promotion, and web analytics for audience insights.
Core Competencies: Highly organized, deadline-driven, able to manage multiple tasks; strong networking and collaboration skills.
Work Style: Ability to work independently and occasionally remotely; willingness to travel for events.
Travel 2-3 times annually, including international travel.
