Harriman’s growing multi-disciplinary practice is seeking an experienced Architectural Designer to join our team. With a holistic, ground-up approach to design, our architectural staff works closely with the firm’s integrated engineering groups to fulfill our mission to design relevant and innovative solutions to human needs. Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for working in close coordination with the PM and/or lead designer to continue development and understanding of the architectural design process and Harriman standards. Primary duties include assisting project leadership to the extent possible within the individual’s capability and experience.
Assisting in developing project design as determined by the PM. This position is expected to require a significant amount of oversight from the PM, lead architect, and/or supervisor. Continued improvement is expected with regard to aptitude with software, regulatory requirements, design standards, and best practices. Development of autonomy on basic tasks including task management and self-editing are required for advancement.
Requirements
We’re looking for an experienced architect to support our thriving K-12 education practice. The successful candidate would have the following skills and experience:
1 year of architectural experience minimum.
Must possess a baseline knowledge of the architectural design and documentation process and demonstrate the ability to work under direct supervision and guidance of multiple project leaders.
Education requirements: A 2-year associates degree or 3 years of working experience under a licensed architect. A 4-year NCARB accredited degree is preferred.
There are no licensure requirements for this position.
Able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
