Overview Koniag Management Solutions, LLC a Koniag Government Services company is seeking a Technical Writer to support KMS and our government customer in Washington, DC. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust.

Responsibilities The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation for Federal IT Governance programs. The ideal candidate will have experience with federal government legislative and regulatory requirements, particularly in IT policy implementation. Principal responsibilities include:
Create and edit technical documents such as transmittals, decision memos, and other technical materials for consistency and accuracy
Support FITARA compliance initiatives and federal IT policy implementation programs
Assist with IT Governance Boards operations and documentation
Develop and implement processes, procedures, and policies
Utilize OMB Max tools for scheduling program events, recording milestones, and providing centralized document processing
Create and maintain documentation for IT investment review, management, and oversight in compliance with OMB requirements
Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather and validate technical information
Format and organize complex technical information into clear, concise documentation
Maintain version control and document repositories
Support Department of Commerce (DOC) or other federal agency IT policy compliance initiatives
Adjust to changing priorities while managing multiple concurrent tasks
Education and Experience Required:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience assisting with Federal Civilian IT Governance programs
Minimum of 2 years assisting with federal government legislative and regulatory requirements
At least 2 months supporting the Department of Commerce (DOC) or a large federal agency with complex IT policy compliance
Experience supporting FITARA Compliance and Federal IT Review and Compliance programs
Experience supporting implementation of IT Governance Boards
Required Skills and Competencies Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical writing
Proficiency in appropriate grammar, punctuation, style, formatting and other writing best practices
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
Experience handling multiple tasks concurrently
High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Power Apps, etc.)
Knowledge of OMB Max tools (Max Collect, MAX Survey, MAX Analytics, and development of OMB Max Web Pages)
Understanding of OMB requirements, Federal IT Acquisition Reform Act (FITARA), and IT investment review processes
Professional interpersonal skills that foster customer excellence/experience
Ability to adjust to changing priorities
Ability to obtain a public trust
Desired Skills and Competencies Advanced expertise in data analytics using Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
Experience with Microsoft Power BI and data visualization
Experience with Microsoft Visio and MS Project
Experience with SharePoint site administration and document management
Knowledge of federal IT procurement processes
Background in IT systems documentation
Experience with process improvement methodologies
Familiarity with technical editing standards and best practices
Experience creating training materials and user guides
Knowledge of accessibility standards for technical documentation
