Center for Speaking and Writing Consultant Join to apply for the Center for Speaking and Writing Consultant role at Lipscomb University . The Lipscomb University Center for Speaking and Writing (CSW) is hiring peer writing and speaking consultants starting Fall 2025. The center aims to assist students, faculty, and staff with public speeches and presentations at all levels. Consultants will provide feedback to improve delivery, message, and confidence through advice and encouragement during sessions. This position may be eligible for federal work-study. Responsibilities include: Topic selection Audience analysis and adaptation Content development Preparation of outlines and speaking notes Persuasive and informative presentations Group presentations Visual delivery skills (eye contact, posture, gestures, notes) Audio delivery skills (volume, enunciation, pace, inflection) Use of audio-visual aids Managing speaking anxiety Ideal candidates will: Have passed Intro to Communication (CO1003) or University Writing (EN1313) with a ‘B’ or better Possess strong communication skills Enjoy working with others Maintain professionalism with peers After training, staff will work 3-10 hours weekly, performing tasks such as: One-on-one tutoring for students Teaching workshops and visiting classes Attending staff meetings and development sessions Position Details Seniority level: Internship Employment type: Part-time Job function: Marketing, Public Relations, and Writing/Editing Industry: Higher Education #J-18808-Ljbffr
